Why is my cat shedding and flaking?

i wouldn't worry about the tongue thing or shedding how ever if the cat has bald spots then its dry skin is a problem.The flakes you are seeing is dandruff/dry skin.On some animals it can get bad.Just like on humans dry skin itches.So obviously your cat has bad dry skin it's itchy so much it's removing too much fur.Go to the vet and get something for it.It's nothing serious but fur-loss,dry skin,skin irritation
