Why would an atheist report a question that suggests atheism is hypocritical?

Speaking purely for myself, when I think I have a scientifically superior argument, I generally relish the opportunity to show it off to the opposition, maybe even gloat and rub it in their faces a little just because I'm kind of childish that way, and the last thing I would ever do is report the question for deletion because that robs me of the opportunity to gloat. The only reason I would report a question for deletion is out of vindictive spite because I am otherwise thoroughly humiliated in defeat, so I wonder why someone that regularly claims rational scientific superiority would react to a critical question or comment with irrational childish vindictiveness. Isn't that a somewhat glaring self-contradiction?
